Galatians 6:1-3 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. (KJV)
Our Lord was not a loudmouth finger pointing person, but a gentle humble person who came not to condemn but to save. Two of the words that accompany meekness are gentle and humble, words describing what it takes to be used by God. You may not have fallen in the area someone else is struggling with, but like our Lord who asked a group of people who thought they were rock stars, “he that is without sin may cast the first stone”. Matthew 7:3-5 And why behold thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considers not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. (KJV) Our Lord has a title for those people who that think they are really something, hypocrite. If we would really learn to examine our own life as much as others we would see things much clearer. If you notice our Lord requires His people to get the impurities out of their own lives first before moving on to others. Numbers 12:1-3 And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. 2 And they said, hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? Hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it. 3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men who were upon the face of the earth.) (KJV) As you can see Moses own family members allowed a beam to cloud their vision and thought God was playing favorites, but God chose Moses for good reason, because this man did not think more highly of himself as the others did. Numbers 12:6-8 And he said hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? (KJV) As you see a meek and humble spirit will get you closer to our Lord than these loud mouth self-righteous ones that we seem to be surrounded with. Our Lord chose Moses because he did not allow pride to get in the way. Psalms 25:8-10 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. 10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. (KJV) Is the Lord working in your life and speaking to you personally, or does He seem distant lately? Maybe you have been calling the shots instead of Him? Matthew 5:4-5 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (KJV) Do you desire to claim your eternal inheritance someday? Then you will need to realize what the term meekness means in order for that to happen. Dearly loved, humble yourself under the mighty hand of God that He may exalt you in due time; and cast all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV)
A fool is known by a multitude of words; you know, those that think they are something special? In the end they only end up deceiving themselves, which is exactly where the enemy desires to see them, on the sidelines and out of play. You will see God is consistent in who He uses and why. The reason many are called, yet in the end only a few are chosen, is because of the deception which can be summed up in one word, religion. John 6:63-65 It is the spirit that quickened; the flesh profited nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65 And he said, therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. (KJV) When you were born again it is like our Lord describing Himself as the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. This new life in Christ means that you have come to an end concerning self, and are now willing to turn your thoughts and attention to a new spiritual realm. The more you realize how useless your thoughts and ways are, the more you give the Lord someone to work in and through. Psalms 107:26-28 They mount up to the heaven; they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. 27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end. 28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distresses. (KJV) Many Christians today are tossed to and fro like a drunk because of all the winds of doctrines the prince of the power of the air is throwing their way. Sometimes we end up at our wits end before we will finally surrender to what our Lord has for us. As one grows and matures in Christ they learn to avoid these hardships and spiritual hangovers. Isaiah 55:6-9 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (KJV) Just about the time you think you know it all and think you can dictate to God how things work, you need to go back and read the final few chapters of the book of Job and see how he got himself out of his funk. Faith is your ability to believe that our Lord’s ways and thoughts are much higher than yours, even though at the present moment it seems like you hit a brick wall. Dearly loved, let go and let God have control of your life; He is faithful, He knows the end from the beginning and has a more perfect plan for your life than you do. God bless and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV)
This week we are going to take a look at a few words that come up quite frequently throughout the Bible; meekness being one which puts us in our place, realizing like Paul did, that we are nothing. Let’s just say that according to our own thoughts and ways we don’t have anything really that contributes to salvation. The more you realize that you are nothing without the Lord, the more you give Him something to work with. John 15:5-6 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (KJV) Salvation is a continual process that has to become a way of life in order to truly experience a quality life in Christ. My past life was one of getting lit up and torched by the enemy because of the stupid decisions I made based on what I thought would work. It is sad to say, but at times I have been my own worst enemy even after knowing the Lord when I would lean more to my own understanding, not walking by faith. 1 Corinthians 3:4-7 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollo’s; are ye not carnal? 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollo’s, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollo’s watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planted any thing, neither he that waters; but God that gives the increase. (KJV) God can and does use people to deliver His message, but as you notice Paul knew his place in the body and the fact that he wasn’t really anything but a vessel. Many carnal Christians today seem to identify more with an organization or some big name pastor rather than establishing a quality, personal relationship with our Lord. The truth is that many pastors also know how to play the people and keep them in that mindset also. Isaiah 44:5-7 One shall say, I am the LORD's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel. 6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. 7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? And the things that are coming, and shall come, let them show unto them. (KJV) As you see this stuff has been happening for a long time, people putting other people on pedestals that they don’t belong on; because some people think more highly of themselves than they ought to. So in the end, if you truly desire to move forward in your walk with the Lord, you will put Him above anyone or anything else on this earth. Why settle for less? God bless dearly loved, and have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
